How we started

Over 250 worshippers and leaders from churches across Merseyside attended the launch of the Christian Police Association Initiative 'IMPACT' at Kingsway Christian Fellowship on 27th October 2002.

In Merseyside, Police and Church Together aims to bring together Police and Chruches to see an IMPACT made upon crime in the regions through intercessory prayer.

Churches take targets based upon general information about crime in their neighbourhoods and through prayer, see a reduction of crime and anti-social behaviour.

Chief Constable Norman Bettison said the the event " I believe the unity that is present here tonight is incredible and wonderful. I want to thank everyone for their friendship, support and commitment, its felt real and its felt warm".

Carol Gustafson, Chair of the Police Authority also expressed her support. "The Christian Police Association Initiative is, I believe an instrument of going forward with the Lord to make things better. The power of prayer will move mountains"
